Hyperpigmentation causes patches of skin to become darker than the surrounding skin. It occurs when the skin produces excess melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color. It can affect any skin type and is more likely during pregnancy, with older age, or after an injury.

Melasma is a common skin problem caused by brown to gray-brown patches on the face. Most people get it on their cheeks, chin, nose bridge, forehead, and above the upper lip. It is more common in women than men. Pregnancy is a common cause of melasma. It also affects woman taking oral contraceptives and hormones.

  • Try to balance your harmonies testosterone and Estrogen mainly. In females, Irregular menstrual cycle shows the indication of hormones imbalance. So, patient require to manage them and consult to doctor about them.
  • Manage stress level regularly with the help of meditation and exercises. Cortisol due to excess stress may also cause Melasma and pigmentation.
  • Drink plenty of water minimum 12 glass of water in a day.
  • Use salads like Tomato and Kheera with meal or without meal with some fruits on daily basis.
